Mr. G, Now and Then

Hello, everyone! I'm Will Gayhart, and I couldn't be happier to return to the wonderful community at Vista PEAK Prep this academic year! I'll be engaging your minds with Integrated 1 Math, a curriculum that's similar to Algebra 1, which you may be more familiar with.

A proud native of Chicago, Illinois, my journey began at Purdue University where I honed my analytical skills and earned a degree in Management. This educational pathway propelled me into a career as a software engineer, leading me to the scenic landscapes of Boulder, Colorado, and a role at IBM.

However, after several years in software engineering, I felt a calling for a more impactful role. So, I journeyed to Montana for graduate school and embarked on my mission to inspire minds as a teacher.

I launched my teaching career in the heart of my hometown, serving the Chicago Public Schools. After five transformative years, my journey took me across the globe to the Philippines. There, I enriched my teaching experience in an international school for four years, absorbing invaluable insights about diverse cultures and learning styles.

When the time came to return to the United States, I found a new home in Denver. I dedicated my skills to Denver Public Schools, working as both a math teacher and a school technology coordinator. With each experience along my career path, I moved closer to finding my ideal work home. Five years ago I found my way to the Vista Peak Campus (8th grade math), and now I'm thrilled to be in my 4th year as part of the outstanding team at Vista PEAK Prep.

With over 18 years of teaching experience, my enthusiasm for the profession remains as strong as ever. I'm passionate about integrating technology in meaningful ways to enhance learning experiences. This led me to pursue a Master's degree in Information and Learning Technologies from the University of Colorado, Denver.

My inspiration continues at home with my four children. This year, two of them are returning to join me at Vista PEAK Prep as 10th graders! My youngest, a two-year-old and a 5-month-old, will have to wait a few years to become Bison.

I can't wait to meet all my new Vista PEAK Prep students and their families. I'm certain we're going to have a fantastic year! Let's revolutionize education together!
